in 2012, I have TA’ed two undergraduate courses at the University of Washington:
Laboratory Techniques in Cellular and Molecular Biology (Autumn 2011) – an introductory molecular biology lab course where students perform experiments (e.g. DNA extraction, PCR, Westerns) and learn to write scientific papers.
Natural History of Birds (Spring 2012) – students learn ornithology from a field, lab, and lecture perspective. This was the first year at UW that this course was taught by John Klicka, the Curator of Ornithology at the Burke Museum, and I helped him design the curriculum for the labs.
